500 rounds later I still have no reason to change or add anything. not a scratch, no velcro for me! Well there is one scratch made by me with a pair of needle nosed pliers.... _________________ ~Samurai |

| I put 75 rounds threw my PS90 and see no marks on the ejection port areas mentioned. I wonder if the way the shells are ejected downward has an effect on the marking of these area? If the caseings were to be ejected back and down, they would bounce back and forward and might create the wear patterns as described and pictured. Maybe some rifles vary more in this regards and thus show more wear than others. |

Well, I am reading older posts here on this problem of spent cases hitting the inside of the rifle. I have no idea if FN has fixed this or not but….Jan 19, 2010
I placed two pieces of “MALE” sticky Velcro (one on the hammer group and one below it on the weapon stock (insided ejection port).
This allows me to remove the hammer group at will. When the hammer group is back in place, I stick on a full length piece of “FEMALE” Non-Stick Velcro over the inside of the hammer group and weapon stock. This allows the back side of the Velcro to face the cases hitting it and is very “cushy”.
I can peel and replace the outer Velcro when ever I want. It’s only about 2 inches long.
I leave the “obutrator” alone as it is replaceable. (I would suppose by now Jan 2010 I could buy one if I needed it). I do not plan to shoot this gun from sand bags.
Other than that – I submit that as of this writing – no other gun in such a small package can do what this one does and frankly – I love it.
Forgot to mention - I wonder if this velcro fix is considered "acceptable" by FNH or will it be a warranty killer ?

The advantage of using Velcro over epoxy as one poster was promoting is that the Velcro could be removed if gun needed to be sent in for warranty repair.
* On the use of something to protect the area from dings and nicks- Some here posting they never plan to sell the weapon, and or wear is normal. Life has a way of throwing stuff at you (Loss of job, Injury, Divorce)
You may for example "have to" sell off your playtoys to buy food, pay the mortgage, or pay medical bills. In those cases you want your xyz playtoy to look NEW to make it easy to sell and bring you the most amount of money....
On FN getting bent out of shape about a piece, or pieces of Velcro I doubt it, but if it was me I'd remove the Velcro before I sent it in for repair.
PS: You could expect upon the return of a repaired unit if they don't use that as a excuse to void your warranty that any Velcro if you left it in the weapon would probably be removed for liability reasons.
Q: What type of polymer is the STOCK ASSEMBLY MADE OUT OF?
(Knowing this would be nice if repair work was needed on stock, or you were doing a mod of some type to make sure the proper materials were used to effect the repair/ mod.
Q: I am looking to buy a stock assembly, anyone here got a spare they'd like to sell?

The frame doesn't show any wear but the hammer pack has some wear after
about 1,500 rounds (left hand pack). The other pack has about 200 rounds
through it. At this rate it should be good for thousands of rounds.
