7. Can you give us more info on the upcoming release of the SCAR - any details you could provide would be appreciated! LE ONLY next month. Commercial SCAR Light 4th Quarter '08 SCAR H Jan. '09

It was from the Q&A December 07.

2010! When I first posted this topic, it was with good intel. 2010? It may as well have been answered with NEVER. BHO and his cronies will be working very hard this summer to make sure 'we the people' only includes people who fall in line with their ideology.

Just like the Dixie Chicks sl*t said she was ashamed to be from Texas, I'm ashamed to say I'm from The Peoples Republic of Illinois.

Would you care to clarify your statement? I know it will be released in the U.S. to the U.S. Military. I made a statement about the semi-automatic version which is not going to make it to market.

If you're referring to the semi version, then I would like to place a friendly wager. What do you say? Hmmm...

I asked the FN rep here about it and he said it will be released here in 2010, which means 2011 in all likelyhood.

And to that I state:

Do you (being a reasonable thinking person) think that THAT is really going to happen with Obama at the helm.

Possibly. There are enough dems who would like to keep their seats for a few more years to maybe hold off an AWB long enough for it to be released. I'm not a betting man, but if I was, I wouldn't bet on it (because I don't trust politicians)

Your link is broken, but I think you're referring to the letter by Congressman Ross to A.G. Eric Holder, asking him to abandon his efforts in reinstating an AWB or any similar laws. Correct?

I'm hoping it doesn't happen, but knowing that these misguided social engineers are on a mission, I seriously believe all gun owners, and manufacturers of anything related to firearms are at more risk today of losing, than ever before.

If anyone cares to read the letter, here's the link:

thanks for fixing that for me sarge. Thumbs Up

yeah, that is the article.

I agree, with BO in the office, it is a stinky situation for individual freedoms in general Very Happy . However it seems his ruthless pragmatism has kept him away from instituting his true left wing radical views.

Seeing as how Bill Clinton has publicly speculated that the AWB was a major factor in the Democrats losing the House in 1994, I don't see the Obama administration going anywhere near gun control (regardless of what Eric Holder might think) prior to the 2010 elections. And Speaker Pelosi doesn't want the stink on her, either, as it might well cost her the leadership position. Forget the Senate--too many Democrat senators from conservative states (like Baucus and Tester from my home state) that would sooner vote against a farm bill than vote for gun control. Most of the talk regarding a new AWB seems to be coming from the very people who are currently raking in the dough due to the post-election hysteria. So I'll keep the dream alive and patiently await the day I wrap my greedy little mitts around a SCAR heavy of my own. Surprised

I really hope this rifle comes out sooner than that, Obama is not going to wait around long. As soon as the economy starts improving, he will be back on his AWB soapbox. And with all of this recent attention from "headline shootings" he might be able to get enough support to push it through.

At the DoD small arms show in Vegas last week, the FN rep said the commercial 17 will be released in 2010. No more detail than that.

I think you guys are giving Obama way too much credit. What he WANTS to do and what he CAN do are two different things.

Spoke to the FNH rep at TREXPO today in Chantilly. He said they expect to have the 17S shipping and in the hands of owners in March/April of 2010.

No price info or anything else...

Starting to re-think my collection. Not sure I am in the market for another 5.56..... which made me think of the 17S.

Still on track for early 2010?

Tag to follow posts in the future.....
