Tiahrt has to do with keeping the confidentiality of trace records. But the ATF has taken this to mean that ALL gun sales can go into the eTrace data base. The ATF uses the "I think that maybe at one time that there was maybe a straw purchase, and I do not have to show any evidence of this, so I can input all gun sales from every dealer, into the eTrace Data Base". The end logic.....outlaw certain firearms, and they are now illegal, so the eTrace data base can be used to hunt them down.

Repealing the Tiahrt Amendment(s) means that everyone will be able to access the data in the eTrace Data Base, not just law enforcement conducting criminal investigations.

The ATF has used the photographing of the dealers "Bound Book" to get the information into the eTrace Data Base. The Bound Book has all the data that the 4473's have, plus all gun sales data from before 4473's were required.

This is why there is such a push for "Ghost Guns" (80% lowers, 80% frames, homemade firearms) to require a serial number issued by the ATF, so they can include this in the eTrace Data Base. If the anti gunners (including the Government) can't have this, then they want to outlaw un-serialized firearms.

The eTrace Data Base IS the National Gun Registry. And anybody who thinks that a National Gun Registry does not exist, has their head buried in the sand....

Get involved and write your reps!!! It will be the year 2028, and we will have lost our rights way back in 2020 when laws were passed quietly making everyone a felon without even a whisper- and you will beg for leniency from the law and local Leo’s in a court room, cause the time had passed while new laws passed, and we are all bound by the law knowing or unknowingly.

So we haven't been posting these for a while now because most legislatures have been closed due to the lock down. That's not to say new bills aren't being introduced. Here's some that have come in over the past month that will need your attention once your legislature gets back (and the US house decides to get off their collective butts and gets back to work)

US Congress

HB6318 would create all sorts of new gun laws, including more limits on the sale of 2 or more firearms, require the CDC to produce yearly reports on gun violence, new prohibitions on certain persons not to be allowed to buy firearms and more

HB6453 is a nonsensical bill directing the FBI to compile a list of all background checks that happened after Jan. 31 2020, including how many were not completed within 3 days and went to 'default proceed', basically so they can then start screaming about requiring longer wait periods before the default proceed happens
