I can assure all Floridians, stricter gun laws are highly unlikely to ever reach Ron DeSantis' desk. Florida is predominantly Republican and Republicans control both State Houses by a VERY large margin.

"H6001 would remove colleges from the places where open carry is prohibited if the person has a carry license."

^^^the above is utter nonsense^^^

Florida, except under very limited circumstances does NOT allow open carry, period!

Florida does not issue a "carry license" it does issue a Concealed Weapon License (CWL).

I agree.

I thought the same after Marjorie High. And then the Republican House and Republican Senate and Republican Governor all signed in on anti gun laws. And the Republican Sheriff headed a special committee to determine how best to secure our schools.

Yup, no concerns here.

During the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas incident we had that jackass Rick Scott for a Governor and Scott Israel as Broward Sheriff. If you recall DeSantis removed Scott Israel. Some in the BSO under Israel's leadership were pathetic cowards for LEO's. That has since changed, thankfully and DeSantis is night and day a different Governor.

I agree though, after Stoneman Douglas there were some knee jerk reactions that fortunately didn't make it very far. Brian Mast an absolute D-bag of a human being was behind a lot of it. Mast disgusts me...

I was not referring to Isreal, but to Gualtieri of Pinellas County who headed the commission.

It was a knee jerk reaction.

Unfortunately, right after this 5 states passed red flag laws directly attributed to this incident. So there was more repercussions than what was passed in Florida alone.
