Does that sound about right for 168 gr. FGMM out ot the 17? I fired five rounds over my chrono today and that's what my average was.

I'm not at all disappointed with the velocity. I was just asking to be sure I was in the ballpark for the stock 16" barrel.

That is quite slow compared to mine, well outside even 3 standard deviations. My data:

min: 2464
max: 2490
avg: 2478
standard deviation: 10

all in ft/s

My Hornady TAP A-MAX 168 gr was really close to this, avg: 2472, sd: 7.

Edit: Forgot to add: temp around 65F, cold barrel, 10 shots to get a reasonable standard deviation

That isn't a shooting chrony, is it? They are notoriously inaccurate. That definitely sounds low. I haven't shot any myself, but I'll make a point to take some measurements the next time I get out with 168gr bullets. I would expect more mid to high 2400s for 168gr bullets out of a 16" barrel. Does FGMM use a temperature sensitive powder? Perhaps the cold weather?
