Supposedly there were some runs where the tips of 197 were indeed purple. A member posted some for sale here back in March (I tried to buy it, sent him the money but he ended up sending the $$ back to me).
My understanding is that they may be older (5-10 years?) cartridges but should be good to use.
Make sure your new FsN is properly cleaned before shooting it. The chamber comes with a tacky rust inhibitor from the factory that will cause failure to extract if not removed before firing.
