I like singlestacks. 1911's. Love my West German P239 and P220. But from the first announcement of the 503 I thought it a bad idea. But it's not. All the yucktubers can cry about how it's not a 365 or Hellcat. It's not. It's not supposed to be. Thank God too. My 365 feels like a toy. Just too small. It's mags show damage after one range trip and eventually it's feed lips crack. I think FN engineers knew that forcing so many rounds into a tiny mag was trouble. Singlestacks are reliable. Grip is....oddly flat. But when shooting it, it doesn't seem to matter. Much like reset never gets noticed when shooting. In carrying it, in humid 98 degrees, it's a joy to pocket carry. I appreciate the sights. A little extra gap is very helpful to tired old eyes. It's trigger which I was all set to hate since it had a Gluck dingus, is excellent to me. I find the 503 with the 8rd. mag, a fine replacement for my P239 which Sig refuses to support. It sits proudly with my 2 FNS9c's, 509M and FNX45.
