I made an adjustment to my FNP40 USG. I removed the safety/decocker from the fire control unit. When I first bought it I hoped to carry it cocked and locked. I found the weight of the safety to be too light and the safety would slip off on occasion. Also, I found it a little to easy to hit the decocker when flipping the safety off. When carrying it uncocked with the safety off I would find the safety occasionally slipping on. I liked the simplicity of my friends Glocks but prefer the single action trigger pull. I have carried it this way, safety lever free, for about a month now and find it very pleasing. I did not want to alter the lever permanently and with no aftermarket lever available this seemed like the way to go.
