WASHINGTON, DC – Somewhere, out there, lurking among the produce at the local farmers market, hides some purdy dangerous hombres, criminals that may require killin’.

We’ve already told you how the U.S. Agriculture Department’s Office of Inspector General wants to buy 40-calibre sub-machine guns with front and rear tritium night sights and a 30-round mags.
Now, it seems they also need some bullet-proof vests.

The U.S. Forest Service is under the USDA. They employee LEO's which could use these vests. Especially in NM and AZ along the border. I am a former wildland firefighter for the U.S.F.S. and believe it or not down in those southern desert areas there is National Forest land. I wouldn't look to much into it. Not to mention many of these Forest Service LEO's are the first ones to find or stumble upon illegal grow and meth production operations. I'd want a vest if I was to find a grow up with people guarding it. Would want the vest and the 00 buck if I stumble upon some tweekers cooking meth too.
