Alabama, unlike most states, continues to buy firearms at rates close to the record-setting spree in the months after President Obama won re-election.
The initial frenzy has leveled off nationwide.
But not in Alabama.
Alabama saw background checks dip just 6 percent last month over January of 2013. Most saw much larger drops, as 42 states recorded declines of 30 percent or greater.
Here are the ten states that saw the least fall off.

This chart shows the percentage change between background checks in January 2013 and January 2014. Only two states saw more checks last month than at the same time one year earlier, during the initial nationwide run on guns. Unlike most states, Alabama hasn't see much decline in interest since the heighth of the gun run.
