I like them. I also like AE. I also love SS195 and SS198. I have a little SS192.

Many here will say only shoot SS198 but to me that is not necessary. For me, I will not shoot any of my SS192. The SS198, I only shoot it rarely. I plink the crap out of the American Eagle and have had zero issues with it.

For use in the FsN, anything you find should be fine. There have been issues with the American Eagle branded stuff, but most of the issues are coming from the PS90. It is not the most consistent stuff, but for the range it has worked fine for me. The SS197 is the preferred plinking ammo for most people. The SS195 used to be good, but availability (and possibility that it was discontinued) has made finding it a bit more difficult. SS198 is great if you have access to it, but some sellers will only sell it to Law Enforcement, so it artificially has driven the cost above that of the SS197.

Only the Fiochi rounds are found on actual physical LGS store shelves. These Fiochi rounds are:
FNH SS197SR (these are all Fiochi loaded)
Federal (American Eagle) AE5728A TMJ(or FMJ) (also loaded by Fiochi).

Any other 5.7x28 loadings are only available online.
No actual physical store carries any other loading a than the Fiochi ones (unless you are lucky enough to live close to ammo sellers who sell other loadings online)

If you are fortunate enough to live near OMB Guns, they have SS198LF on the shelf when it's in stock.

New to the FiveSeven, just wondering, after reading here seams that no one likes the SS197SR 40 gr Vmax, just wondering why? What makes the others better?
just like what Trent said below: faster projectile by lighter projectile weight and possibly also a hotter powder loading.
But just reducing the projectile and using the same powder loading in the SS197 will increase energy because the projectile would be accelerated more quickly because the force applied to it has less mass to move. (Simple physics)

The ss195 and 198 have higher velocity due to lower bullet weight and a hotter powder charge. Additionally they tumble rather than mushroom or whatever vmax does (fragment?).

the SS197 SR V Max usually does not fragment.
Online vids show v max terminal ballistics in soft target doesn't shred or fragment. It can shed the v max ballistic tip though
