Did the reticle shift or did the whole scope? I broke a nice scope, and then ran a cheapie that didn't break. I now have a Vortex and it works fine. The power of the .308 will twist the rifle somewhat and a scope not torqued enough will shift a little. I had this happen until I got a good scope mount and torqued it correctly.
