Hopefully somebody else will chime in, but I think that is just the nature of the DA/SA pistol. I have only ever shot 1 other (besides my FNX9 and FNX45) and that was a Sig P226. That same long pull was present on all 3 during the DA shot. The advantage is that you typically get a very nice SA trigger pull as you are not doing the half cock action like on a lot of striker pistols.
At least with the FNX9 you have the option to carry it with the hammer cocked and the safety on. You can also train to pull the hammer back as you draw from your holster, so that it does not add to your first shot on target time.
