MGW shows the flat plate in their main exploded parts view, but when you click on the item it's shown as the wedge-shaped plate.

That's odd. I'd give them a call to see which one they actually have if you do want to replace the wedge ones, just to be sure you don't wind up getting the same thing.

As a side note, try not to run ammo that is at or exceeds SAAMI COAL as the front to back of the FNP mags is right at SAAMI specs. That can also cause binding in the mags.

I own an FNP 40 stainless and an all black FNP 9. Love to shoot both, but EVERYONE that shoots both of them enthusiastically love the 40! One of my grown daughters won't even shoot the 9 any longer as she likes the 40 that much. I actually shoot the 40 better than the 9. If I had to sell one, the 9 would reluctantly go, but I won't sell it as I want a 9mm laying around for easy ammo sake (in case the poop fan blows!)

I still have a couple FNP's purchased about 5 or 6 years back that I shot in Bowling pin and what served us as Indoor defensive pistol/carbine matches. Both the 9mm and the USG Model .45 have worked well through quite a few rounds. I did have a problem early on during practice with the .45, FTF, but was able to relate that to not making sure the rounds were all the way back when loading the magazine. When I started paying more attention to mag loading , the problem never reoccured. Even with the Wall-Ball 230 FMJ that seemed to give some people problems. It did cause me to buy a .45 OAL gauge so I could check rounds fairly quickly. If I had to, I would not hesitate to go out with either, though the USG .45 is my favorite of the 2. The only reason it stays home is the FNX .45 Tactical has better sights and the threaded barrel to hold my Tirant.

Still have my FNP45, just under 5k round through it and never had a problem. Because of this it's still my EDC and has been since they day I bought her back when.

FNP-45 rides around everyday in a crossbreed when I am not on shift. I just got a fnx-45 tactical this year so I have been thinking about upgrading my edc FNP to a FNX.

FNP40 here but, nowhere near the rounds some have with theirs but it is part of my daily carry rotation. I think they are sort-a underrated.

My FNP .40 is soft shooting

This forum seems a little slow, mostly old posts. So, anybody still out there running an FNP. I have a .40 USG. I enjoy it. I really like shooting a single action firearm and I like the security of a DA first shot. I conceal carry my FNP regularly and find it pretty comfortable. It seems things are trending toward striker fired, but I still like SA/DA.

I also like the .40. A little harder to find and pricier than 9mm, but not so much as to be prohibitive. I might someday get a .357 Sig barrel but not in the cards right.

Just wanted to chime in. Most people don't even know what an FNH is, but I'm very happy with mine.

My FNP .40 is softer shooting, than my son's Glock 23. The G23 is very snappy and hurts my middle finger. The FNP is easy so keep on target and painless, overall a pleasant fun gun to shoot and dead reliable. My son had a problem with his G23 not feeding with Fiocchi 170 grain TMJ. The FNP .40 eat the same Fiocchi 170 TMJ with out a hiccup. The G23 was the first ammo finicky glock I shot. If the **** hit the fan, and I had to pick between the FNP .40 or the G 23 I would grab the FN over the 23.... That says it all. I have a 2006 FNP and the FCH did crack, the gun still fired but I noticed the mag was hard to insert, I caught it right away because I read about cracked FCH on this forum before and was keeping a eye out for it. My FNP did have the FCH (fire control housing) replaced by FN under warranty, with a 2 week turn around, also the new FCH seems to be a beefier design. I put 250 rounds through the FN since then and all is good, I had about 1500 rounds before the cracked FCH.

I love my FNP-40. Someone just posted an ad for a FNP-9m on a local Facebook group. Don't see those every day. The lack of support turned me off to picking it up though.

I still have my nearing 6 year old FNP40 USG. Haven't been to the range in over 3 yrs. And (unfortunately I dont have a CCW at this time) my poor 40 is crying for some trigger time as am I. With only a little over 500 rounds through her as of 1/12 (last time I went a blasting at B27's) she's nowhere as near experienced as some of her siblings at sending lead down range but she's still ready to roar. Once a month she gets a very light clean and a thorough visual inspection before returning to her case to await a call to duty.

Hopefully I can get her to the range in the near future so she can speak again.

I still have the FNP-9 that I purchased several years ago, and put exactly 1,919 rounds through since than... But, since I'm now a confirmed Glockaholic, I haven't fired my FNP-9 since 06/04/15.

Can't imagine trading in my FNP-45. It's my preferred concealed carry except when driving or summer in SC where I won't wear a long shirt. My only, and I mean ONLY, problem with it is the safety/decocker lever. I have large enough hands and long fingers, but I can't manage an easy, smooth operation of the safety lever, not even with support hand. I won't carry concealed with safety on. My support hand cocks the hammer just fine. So, if a situation develops where I have time, I will cock. If I don't have time, the heavy trigger pull will have to be safety enough. I'd appreciate any advice on changing out the safety lever.

Purchased my FNP-9 back in 2012, put approximately 2,500 rounds on it and then sold it. Recently convinced the guy I sold it to to sell it back and put another 500 rounds through it since. Not sure how many rounds were put through it while it was out of my possession for over a year. But I liked this FNP-9 so much that I had to buy it back.

Hell's yeah I'm still shooting my FNP-40. When the weather changes to cool air. Its my everyday carry. Other wise its on my wife's nightstand because she loves to shoot it too.

I'm in.... my FNP - 45 is still active ( albeit ) my trips to go shooting have diminished . Love the thing and have several " big talkers " wanting to buy it should I ever decide to let it pass on to another owner. Doubt that will happen .... even if I don't exercise my muscle memory skills ... I still move it around from place to place and often keep it close by for " Homeland Defense " !
