I figured I'd try to run my Vickers AK sling on my 16
about ever 2-4 rounds it would not eject and I would get double feeds

3 variables
1. Added the Vick sling
2. Moved charging handle to right side
3. Had Strikefire cantilever mount over ejection port
4. Also tried mobile 1 synth grease on rails. Maybu too much?

I can figure out exactly what was causing it but it is the FIRST time I ever had any issue with this rifle

i was shooting 62 grn. Green tip

I noticed the front loop was obstruction the gas port on the left side behind the gas block
so I took the sling off and moved the charging handle th the left side and no more issues...

I am aware of the blue force SCAR sling but figured it has an AK front loop and I could just run the loop through the stock it might work out ok..

anyone else ever ever experience this?

Probably related to the charging handle being obstructed.

Lube not causing the issue.

Remove the sling and see what happens.

You have a whole lot going on here; double feed, failure to eject, and short stroking? A true double feed (trying to chamber 2 live rounds) is typically magazine related. It's hard to have a double feed at the same time as a failure to eject (a spent casing sitting on the bolt face, riding forward, and trying to chamber 2 live rounds from the magazine). How many rounds did you fire in the deficient configuration, and how many after removing the sling and swapping the charging handle back to the left? How was the sling attached at the front? My money is on infidel/crusader's theory of the charging handle being obstructed in some way on the right, especially if you have never fired it in that configuration. If you are getting true double feeds, mark all of your mags and see which one(s) are giving you problems. And finally, gas block on the right position?

Pictures are worth a thousand words.

But if weapon work bad with sling, then sling removed, weapon work good, it's pretty straightforward.

Minimize your variables to narrow things down. But a charging handle obstruction will cause all manner of malfunctions.
