Anyone else waiting on a Griffin Revolution?

1871 Views 16 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  Jeremy M.
I ordered a Griffin Revolution 9 on Jan 28 (order 272707). "Backorder" at the time.

Has anyone received feedback on their orders? Exactly why the long wait? Or any idea when they expect them in at SS?

I got this feedback before I decided to put in the order with Silencer Shop:
> Backorder means you pay up front for the suppressor, as soon as we get them in
stock we will process your paperwork to the ATF. Waitlist is first come first serve
on who gets what, the back order means you get one before we put them in stock
on the website. We hopefully will see them within 30-60 days.

Ordered mine Jan 12. ATF cashed check Feb 16. Transferred to my LGS March 3.
Order date was Jan 12. When did you fill out the form 4? At LGS? That is 7 weeks to get the stamp and take possession? I thought the average was 5 to 7 months for Form 4 approval.

You need to read that again. The Form 3 transfer to dealer took 7 weeks. Yes, 5 mo. + wait on the form 4 now.

Correct 17Heavy. Hope to get it by my birthday in July-lol.

With my current experience I'm going to call B.S. on that statement. I don't call selling suppressors as "In stock" then changing the order to "BACKORDERED" after the fact as good people. More like greedy deceitful people. I've bought many suppressors thru Silencershop but this may very well be my last thru them.

I bought four cans from them. Not a single issue with any of them. So yes, they are A+++++ rated in my book.

If you have an issue, you need to call them for resolution. Griping on the open forum is not going to do squat to solve your issue.

Common courtesy seems to be lacking a great deal in today's generation.......

Have had more issues with my rev9 than any other can own. Has been to them once and has been 3 weeks since I sent it back to them again. Silencershop has been nothing but 100% for me while griffin not so much. Maybe ask for your money back if it hasnt been form3'd yet. mich better 9mm cans out there

I wrote to them. They didn't offer any explanations or give me a better ETA. Their original email of "30-60 days" secured the sale. It's been 72 days.

They did tell me I can cancel the order and get the entire amount as a credit to my visa.

Very disappointing to be misled and have expectations set for 60 days at most.

You need to cancel, get your refund, and go shop at another place since you're not happy with them.

I have been very satisfied with Silencer Shop too. I had some questions recently and SS responded in a reasonable time with satisfactory answers. Their hours are listed to 1800 CDT and they returned my call almost 2 hours after closing time which is special IMO.

They're at the mercy of the Manufacturer's communication to them and ability to deliver, Griffin in this case. Heck I'm frustrated with CZ, Hogdon, CCI just to name a few cause the product I want is difficult to obtain, patience is a virtue.. Good Luck with your purchase.

Yep, I've sent an email off to SS to cancel.

A not-so-local LGS offered an in-stock Octane 45K, Octane 45 or a Ti-Rant 9 for $725, including piston. Very surprised. Forty minutes away. I knew they carried suppressors but they were always at full MSRP. They never were flexible with NIB guns before, used guns - no problem. I got to ask "is that your best price" more often!

So, SS was $709+205 stamp backorder at 73 days with no in-stock date versus LGS of $725+200 stamp for in-stock. No brainer $11.

Truth be told, I was purely lucky in timing. Lucky I was talking to LGS owner and not one of his regular salesman. And perhaps lucky that he just wanted to move them. I went with the SS Griffin Revolution 9 originally cause it showed up in-stock and offered a short configuration, then it became a "backorder" before I ordered it but thought it was still the quickest route to a can before the 41P complicated gun trusts.

I am pretty sure I will go with the Octane 45 for more calibers and stainless buffers. A little longer. I do think the Ti-Rant is the quietest though. The lightest for sure. They open at noon.

Yep, SS processed my visa credit first thing Monday morning. Yeah!

Day wasted waiting for it to be stocked: 74.

I put 20% down on the Octane 45 at Vandalia Range and Armory. Tax stamp submitted.
I was surprised - I have visitation rights!
Hey guys sorry for the delay. My wife had our son on Friday so I have been out of the office.

bkrunner: Sorry to hear about your issues. With delays in silencers coming in we are not only at the mercy of the manufacturer but also the ATF. Our intention is not to mislead people but try to provide accurate timelines. With the Revolution silencers there has been a redesign due to some of the problems that vertigosol has brought up. So they have been delayed a bit. If you have any questions or comments just let me know. You can PM or email me.

Nope but that would be funny. Without fail when I have to be out of the office there are tons of posts for me on the forums.
