I have an older FNP9 that has the silver barrel, decocker, mag release, etc. I just purchased another one that has the lightened slide and updated decocker. I was wondering if I could send the gun in and have the new decocker installed since it is sooo much easier to operate. I would like to purchase a new slide also since the new gun feels much lighter than the old one. And lastly, my old mags have plain colored springs in them verses red springs in my new mags. I've noticed the old mags barely push the slide release up just enough to catch the slide where the new ones push it all the way up in the groove. Has anyone ever upgraded?

Have not. I have the USG with the safety/decocker and it's about a year old now. All my mag springs work well (I bought 2 more for 5 total). It sounds like you may want to replace the mag springs sometime in the future.

Last week at the range I had one of my 4 mags not lock the slide back after the last shot. It had a red spring in it. The other three mags work fine. After I got home I looked at the gun and mag. I took the mag a part and stretched the spring a small amount. It then would lock the mag back. Bad part is after wards I was in a rush and mixed up that mag with the others. DARN now I will have to to the range and use all 4 mags to see if any fail.

From all the work it sounds like you want done, it may be more economical or cost efficient to just go find another FNP, if even a used one.

Another thing to think about is that there are not a whole lot of those original FNP's out there. In that original condition they may be pretty sought after some day. Take some of the early FiveseveN's for example.

I finally got a reply from Bob after leaving 2 messages. He referred me to Rob in the service dept. I was told (1) the gun would have to be shipped Next-day Air thru UPS ( very out of my way, inconvenient for me, and probably pricey ) and (2) They couldn't verify thru the SN if the gun was capable of being upgraded and how much it would cost if it was. I decided not to mess with it.
