I am trying to decide on a rifle to use for 3 gun and all I see are AR's. Anyone use a 16s?

No reason not to run your 16s.

I've shot the 16 in competition.

I also RO'd at the LaRue 3Gun Nationals last year, and the entire Team FNHUSA were using SCARs.

The Surefire 3Gun Nationals is in a couple weeks. I'm sure they'll be using them, again.

I've seen many competitors use them. ARs are just more modular and accessible, with a longer history; thus they are more widespread.

I run a 16S with a Geissele trigger and FN extended fore-end in BRASS two gun shoots! Never an issue or malfunction!

I've run mine a few times at our local rifle match.

No problems and I prefer the SCAR's ergoniomics over the AR any day of the week. The reciprocating CH is very nice as a means of determining why I have a dead trigger: if the CH is forward I probably have a dud round or empty chamber, if it's all the way back I've got a empty mag, if the plastic knob is at some weird intermediate position I've got a stoppage.

You can spec out and customize an AR exactly with what you want and need, the 16S is limited in this respect.

I use my 16s for 3-gun. It runs great! The only issues I ever had was when our sponsor gave us crap ammo and the CH got caught on my sling a couple of times.
