I have a very clean factory produced FMAP SLR Argentine (Rosario mfgr) fixed stock FAL.

A ~17.3" barrel and a Papa New Guinea (F1) muzzle device shows barrel shortened and RH threaded.

The lower and BCG #'s match. The upper has a X.... serial. no import stamp I can see? IIRC reading years ago, importer took guns apart to ship, and didn't rematch.

Anyone know history or value?

It'd be best to ask on the FALfiles and include some pics of both sides of the upper receiver. If the upper and lower #s don't match, it probably wasn't imported as a complete rifle. Value is highly dependent on the condition and number of rounds fired. Be sure to include that info and lots of pictures to get an accurate value. Collector value is hurt by the shortened barrel though.

Start a thread here https://www.falfiles.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=150

For rough value: matching # Argy kit with shortened barrel = $600-800 depending on condition. FMAP receiver = $600-$700 So I'd venture $1300-$1800 for a complete rifle. A pristine, all matching, imported FMAP rifle might bring $2000, IMHO (take that for what it's worth).

Oh, and check your serial numbers here https://www.falfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=277160 (just read the 1st post) and check the chart https://www.dropbox.com/s/su1iibb49957e1i/Argie FAL SN_2020_01_10.pdf?dl=0

It was a complete factory gun, and likley one that got stuck in customs during the ban time frame. Several of those guns were split into two sections and company "A" selling the upper and a company "B" selling the loweres then put together into a rifle. Forged receivers and the barrel had a nut pinned and welded to the muzzle. Matching number guns pull $1500-$2000 unmolested, Para's more. Too bad your barrel was molested and hopefully someone removed it to cut, crown and thread it correctly.

Muzzle rifling look clean. I measured barrel with rod, appears to be ~ 17.3" in length. The muzzle brake made me think 16" at first
