Hi guys, I was wondering which length Suppressor cover would you recommend for the Saker 762 from Armageddon Gear Covers? They seem to only have a 7 and 8" length version but the saker 762 is supposed to be 7.5" long. Can anyone verify that this is the correct length with the MAAD mount not with no mount on the can?

Thanks!

I started getting into longer distance shooting with my bolt action 22lr and I really enjoyed it and I'm looking at getting a bolt action 223 and 300 blackout to start really learning how to shoot long distance and I figured that once that happens I may end up with mirage problems after a while of shooting. I figured I would be prepared at that time with the cover.

They have a "custom size" option. I would just give them the dimensions of the Saker 762 and have them make one the right size. If you go with one that is too long and it hangs over the suppressor exit it will probably end up shredding the insulation a bit after you shoot it enough.

Suppressor Cover - Custom Size

I'm using their 9" suppressor cover on my Specwar 762 and it's just the right size. So for the Saker 762 you will prob need one that is 7.5" long.

Why do you want a suppressor cover?
It serves as a mirage shield. After about a mag if you are shooting any distance the mirage can severely affect your sight picture.

It also allows you to take the suppressor off before it's completely cooled down. It's too hot to touch after only 5-10 rounds depending on rate of fire, and it takes a very long time for something with that much mass to cool down. If you take it off it will cool down much faster by letting some air move though it and will allow you to get the rest of your gear put away without accidentally melting/burning something.

If you cover only the can, won't the exposed barrel also creat mirage like problems?

If you are shooting enough rounds at a fast enough rate, then eventually, yes. That's why some people use a mirage cover for their barrel as well. However the can gets hot so much faster than the barrel that the mirage shield on the can makes a real noticeable difference. Shooting my SCAR 17 I've never noticed mirage off of the barrel, however I get it from the can after just 1 mag.

See if they have a 7.5" since that is the length of the Saker. Anything longer will start to burn the cover. Also I would not suggest that you run .22 through the Saker because it will cause lead build up.
