Bad Magazine Weld

Hello everyone,

I just picked up an FNX-40. I got a very good deal on a like new second hand. I was looking everything over and noticed the weld on one of the magazines is NOT going down the middle of the seam. In fact for about 90% of the weld length, it is almost entirely on the right side of the seam. There appears there may even be a couple open gaps in the weld/seam.

Should I get this mag replaced? Will FN warranty a second hand purchase? Please advise.

Thank you,

I email FN several days ago about the bad weld and asked what I needed to do to get replacement. They have not responded. Is it normal for them to take a long time to respond.
It's better to call them. They don't really respond to emails anymore unfortunately.

It took FNH 1 week to answer my questions about Cracks in my PS 90 mag, then they asked me to send a Picture which I did and today after 3 days, I get a e-mail that my replacement is on the way!
In my case after not getting a response from FNH to my e-mail I went of FNH's Facebook page and the next morning I got a response, yesterday I went back on Facebook and posted I felt like I was getting a Run-a-round from FNH and posted the pictures and a link to my Thread on here (free advertising) today I got notice a new mag on way!

Also had probs with no response from Blade-Play and SOG knives till I went on FB and then they replaced my knives ASP! Also got tons of excuses like they Blade-Play and SOG had never got my e-mails! LOL
I have called several times and one time I got to talk to someone in the parts department. He said to simply send it in. Blind. I have also sent an email with all info and a picture of the mag weld.

Is that correct? Do I just send them a blind package with the defective mag and a note in it requesting a replacement? Seems like a good way to end up losing my mag all together.

If so, can anyone verify the proper address to send it to? the address the guy on the phone gave me is NOT the same as what is listed on the web page. He gave me the address as: Browning service Dept. ONE BROWNING PLACE Arnold MO 63010. Not FNH???

Thanks for helping me get pointed in the right direction.

Browning service Dept. ONE BROWNING PLACE Arnold MO 63010
That is correct.

They take care of parts and service for FN, Browning, and Winchester.
