I'm kind of impressed with that .357 Sig in the gel picture. It has almost the same disturbance as the .45.

I would say more, it has a permanent wound cavity that extends longer than the .45acp, it's a neat round but not as many ammo choices compared to 9mm, .40, .45acp. I'm digging both the .40 calibler rounds since thats what I shoot/carry the most.

.357 Sig is an awesome round that can be shot just as well as any other with practice. Even double taps are manageable. I like the .357 Sig for more than just its performance out the barrel, I like the tapered cartridge, from all accounts, it lends to its reliability in the feeding process, and that is very important, as we all know. The recoil really isn't that bad.

Here's my 357 Sig (Glock 32C). 4 shots from the draw in 1.8 seconds. First two rounds are 1" apart, second two are 4" apart.

I actually shoot this pistol better than I do my Kimber.45. The penetration of either the 357Sig or the 45 are pretty much equal, but that initial impulse (wound channel) is pretty impressive for the 357Sig.

I have always been amazed at people shooting jello. I have never been attacked by jello in my life time but I'm sure that this will help in my selection of ammo should I ever be. If I ever deside to go hunting jello it will undoudtably be of the ut most importance.

Shot placement is 100X more important when using a pistol. Every round went deaper than 12" yes? Then it will reach vital organs.

While I will agree that the 357sig makes an interseting wound track the bullet weight is almost 1/2 less the weight of the 45. and the 45's expansion is out to a .75 diameter.

I'll stick with my 45.

Did anyone notice the 9mm and the .40 have expansions that are just about the same?

Just for my own morbid curiosity, I calculated the following...

.357Sig is a full 33% faster than the .45
.357Sig is only 0.07th of an inch smaller at max diameter
.357Sig (G32) vs Standard 1911 has a magazine capacity 33% more than the 1911.

The moral of the story.... .357Sig is 33% better at killing Jello! :-D

A 357 SIG vs a 45 ACP

It's the difference between being hit by a "nail" or by the "hammer".

45 rules

It's ok Doc... I shoot the .45 pretty good too. You could put a quarter over the hits on this set.
