I cant remember who said they were going to get the NF 2.5-10. That is going to be your best choice for this. (My opinion only not fact) I found that you can not have two things from one sight. The 10x will work great for the range, and the OS MRD (Mini Red Dot) is the tits. You have the long range magnification you need and then when it gets close you got the fast Red dot. Also if you want you could even go higher magnification but still keep the OS MRD. Then you can do both for cheap.

One other thing this thread is exactly why I love this forum over the other snob forums. If this was over at the other two it would have been locked by now. This forum is so great they actually let you go off and get all the way into the discussion. I do want to hear every complaint about a product or technique. It seems to save me some time and money down the road. Above all if I didnt like what was being posted all I have to do is not look. Thanks all
I like the 2.5x10 NF also. I almost got that one over the x15. It's just that a deer looks cool through the x15 at 200 yards. I just wish South Carolina would allow the use of suppressors while hunting. Now that would would be cool.

...Perhaps you should go to a NASA forum and let them know what they are doing wrong with the space program. I'm sure you have as much in common with them as you do with SCAR 17 owners. However I doubt it would keep you from delivering an "expert" opinion.

Not really called for. Please keep it civil and although you may not respect each others opinions, respect their status as a fellow forum member and gun owner.

Perhaps the use of smilies will take the edge off of the tone.

Your right. I'm just not use to someone thinking know everything like this. I checked out comments on other threads by him and its the same every time. He must be an adviser to the DoD. If not it's a terrible loss.

I added the smile face. :th_thumbsup: Thanks man.

Than your opinion means nothing to me at least.
You keep saying that and yet everytime I post, you have some more 'advice' for me. Just because I don't own a gun, means I can't comment on it? Do I have that right? I have shot it the weapon a lot, a few of my friends have em. I have experience with them, but because I didn't buy a gun that I didn't like, I can't comment according to you. Sheesh.

You mean I am consistent??? Well what a tragedy. I have a consistent opinion. I don't know you, but it seems that you have thin skin when it comes to the SCAR. So much so that you evicerate anyone that questions it obvious prowess. At least you are consistent too. Oh and here ya go: :th_thumbsup:

Now you are just baiting him. Step back and take a deep breath and stop.

Arrogance? Pot this is kettle over, YOU BLACK.

"Not really called for" vs. "you are baiting him, take a deep breath, and stop". Ok, right...

Feel free to delete my post, not sure, but don't think I will ever see eye to eye with Patton.

Love to see pics on what you go with OP. One thing is for sure, the SCARs do look cool with a bunch of optics.

That's the first time I've ever heard someone say the SCAR isn't that accurate. While I haven't shot mine yet, every post I've read related to accuracy seems to gush about how super accurate this rifle is.
I know. But mine isn't super accurate. There is a thread from last spring where a forum member did a T&E on my gun. He found it to have POI shift in the 2 MOA area. That thread ended up locked because it got nasty. I'm not a very good shot, so I had another guy test the gun too. Here is the 20 round group he shot with Privi 168gr match ammo. Both shoots were with fairly high powered optics. This target was shot at 12X at 100yds:

Now, it's probably my gun, because as you say most people report great accuracy. But, most people report a 3 or 5 shot best group. They don't post 20 shot groups. Mine could surely hit a 3 shot .5 "best of the day" group. I believe those results don't represent the true accuracy of a battle rifle.

That's all I got. YMMV

To me it's more like why would someone who lives in L.A. buy a Ferrari when a BMW would do. If you can't take advantage of the equipment's superior qualities, you're just trying to impress people.
In my world, never getting my car out of 2nd gear in stop 'n go traffic, or increasing the weight of a carbine by 20%, is opulence.

I'd rather Cerakote all my magazines.
I think that you have just shown the forum where you are coming from. First, you don't understand why people Cerakote their magazines when I had them for sale. Then you do not understand why people put expensive lens on their rifle.

Not sure - but does that read to anyone here as JEALOUSY?

First you crap on my thread and Cearakote finished magazines. OPPULENCE.
Second, you crap on this thread. OPPULENCE.
Third - yet again you added NOTHING.

To the OP. Your purchase decision should not be based on FNF member socialist dogma or inability to own a precision optic. If I had the coin, I would have Schmidt & Bender on all my rifles, regardless of the rifles accuracy potential.
Since I don't have that kind of coin - I am relegated to obtain the best compromise in terms of quality, budget and functional expectations. The rifle's accuracy was not a consideration for me, but may be for others.

This thread has run its course - yes?

Don't single me out HK. Tell that to Therm, too. "Poke me with a stick..."
I don't catch every remark in every thread, but I did catch this one so if the shoe fits........
LOL .. if that isn't the most snivelling comment in this entire forum I started 6 years ago, I don't know what is.
OK, that's it. I'm done and this thread is closed.
