Just purchased an fnx45 for my duty pistol and am wondering if anyone uses any of the blade-tech models on duty? New to the LEO world so any help is appreciated.

I purchased a Blade-Tech holster for the FNX45. Some people love them, but I was not satisfied with the material used, the retention, or the thumb mechanism. My department's armorer was not satisfied with the holster either. Unfortunately, to my knowledge, a big company like Safariland has not created a duty holster for this pistol yet and holster options for this pistol are very limited. If you are allowed level 2 per your policy, this was my solution:

Setup: FNX45-T with Trijicon RMR and SurefireX300U

Solution: Level 2 Safariland Holster for light-mounted 5" Springfield XD. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002W1360G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Dremel out the upper area above the hood to allow the holster to accommodate the RMR.
Remove the retention screw, and remove the rubber bushing pieces if they interfere with the extended barrel/thread protector of the pistol.
Apply a heat gun to expand the holster.
Apply a metal file to areas where the pistol does not sit properly, particularly in areas where the raised iron sights rub.
Form a piece of Kydex over the top opening area, to create a cover for the RMR, and gorilla glue in place. Kydex: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009AEKM6Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use a BladeTech for my FNX40 with mounted M3light. The thumb release takes a little getting used to.
