This always happens, I pull the trigger on something and then something else catches my eye. So, I just ordered a Vortex PST 2.5-10X32FFP MRAD, which is on backorder. Somehow I saw the new Burris XTR II line-up and now I'm second-guessing my decision. Seems like the warranties are both on par with each other. The Burris seems more "feature-rich" and looks similar to the Steiner Military I have on my Savage .308.

Thoughts/experiences/advice?

Had an XTR Tactical on my 17 for a little while. While it didn't break I had the oddest scope problem I've ever seen. You could set zero, shoot, and as you shot you could watch the turrets turn and obviously change point of impact. Did this a couple times at the range in controlled conditions and just couldn't believe it. Sent it in to Burris and they couldn't find anything wrong, wound up selling it. Great glass but just didn't work for me on my SCAR. Very happy with my NF 2.5-10x42.

As antsy as I am to change my mind, I think I'm going to patiently wait for the Vortex. The XTR II's features really are drawing me that way, but the positive press on the Vortex on this site has convinced me to stay the course. In the end, I'd like to wind up with a NightForce or Leupold on top of the 17, but for now the lesser glass will have to do.
