still find it amazing that people with no knowledge whatsoever on a subject will stand up and proclaim to fix issues on that every subject they know nothing about.

Such a ridiculous piece of law. 5 secs with the firing pin and a file would defeat the micro stamping. CA has gone full tilt moronic in the last few years. Sorry Ca residents but I am glad that gun manufacturers will not comply to this stupid law

I'm guessing that if a method of micro stamping a casing is engineered, it won't be done with the firing pin.

It may be done with the barrel chamber. Wonder what sort of extraction issues they might have.

And I'm sure there is some law about tampering with the method.

We are screwed here. There are two things going which make it impossible to obtain new firearms. 1. We have this "Safe Gun" thing where makers have to submit their guns for testing which can take up to a year and any changes the manufacturers make (ANYTHING) requires retesting. So all we have left now are revolvers, and a few semi auto pistols. 2. The Microstamping law, just like every other mind numbingly stupid law in Comiefornia a bad guy will simply modify the weapon before using it. SO now we may soon have no pistols to buy.

It's like the bullet button situation for ARs, you have to have a locked magazine that can only be changed by use of a tool. Well, we figured out how to make a mag button that can be relatively easily pressed using a tool. But the bad guys aren't going to worry about that. Bad guys will just put a standard mag release on since it takes less than 5 minutes to do. So how does this make people safer?

Cal sucks.

The other thing that is stupid about microstamping is that it makes the gun maker responsible for ensuring that the microstamping works. Wear or user modifications can change that so how do they ensure that it will work?

Libtards amaze me!! They think if they make laws, all the bad stuff will go away.....just like drug use did, rape, murder, etc....it's all illegal, so I'm guessing it's really not happening!!

One of the most rediculous statements made. It appears that you have no understanding of what micro stamping is.
I know folks get banned for calling out a Mod on this Forum, but U are the one who is 100% wrong and u don't know about all aspects of Micro-Stamping!

Since about 2005 all kinds of Crazy Laws about Micro-Stamping in Cal have been introduced and some wanted to have all ammo Micro-Stamped both bullet and case when made and even required any ammo not such stamped be banned by 2011! However that 1 did not become Law, so before u jump all over putting out false INFO please get ur facts :p:lol::-D!

Ammunition Accountability Act

Thank's! Oh an Apology would be nice!

PS! 00stormbringer U & dank might want to "Unthank" HK SD 9 in post #10 due to false info! Thank's

:th_sign0155: Comments:th_sign0163:In my link also is a picture of the micro-stamped bullet, however doing so micro-stamping both bullet and case before it even goes in a gun would be expensive for ammo!

How would you know what firearm fired what projectile if all the ammo was microstmped BEFORE it was fired from the fireatm? You think that ammo sellers are going to stamp every bullet and case when the ammo is sold to the end user? What if they give the ammo to somebody?

The idea about MS is that the case is stamped at the time of being fired. So it is purely a fiream related method and has nothing to do with ammo.

Stamping projectiles and cases as they are produced tells you nothing about the firearm that fired it..........

Well just like when u buy a gun, when u buy ammo each box is listed with a number and u sign for it! I remember back in KS in the 70's any ammo I bought was listed on a ammo sheet per cal/type/manufacturer and my ID was checked and listed along with how much I bought! Nothing about Cal suprises me!!
If they are crazy enough they could spot-check ammo, just like in some places it illegal to have more than 7 rounds in a mag but I know 7 rounds mags are now made for these places even though a reg mag is not illegal, yet!

So don't get mad at me for the Crazy Crap coming from Cal.

So I guess an "Apology" wont be forth-coming?:th_confused0024:

The end game is to wipe firearms from the face of California. Which will leave firearms only in the hands of the people who shouldn't have them. Perfect plan. The transformation of California into a liberal Utopian firearm free paradise is almost complete.

Seriously though... I will never visit that place. Not ever.
