They have changed how they answer calls now, use to when you called in you would get someone to answer immediately but now when you call you have to go through their automated directory. But when you hit the number to check the status of a form 1 or 4 there is no option to check the status. WTF note this the 304-616-4500 number.

Even the eForms site has been offline a LOT lately (currently down as of this post).

Probably have to keep trying . I got voicemail all the time trying to check status
Yeah, I was checking on a refund last week. I tried nearly a dozen times before I actual caught someone. But weather is a prime suspect also.

I just called them for a disapproved form 1 (stupid typo is causing me to have to resubmit from scratch). Left a message on the machine and got a call back in less then 30 minutes. They are there today but looks like they let the machine get it now.

As much as we talk trash about them my dealer messed up on one of my forms and when he called in they just corrected it for me without going through the hassle again. Not all if them are expletives

I tried to convince the examiner to do just that and he said that he could update it but it wouldn't update on the PDF that they would approve. There is also no provisions in the efile system for corrections (I checked for myself) so the only way to do it was resubmit a brand new form and pay another $200 tax and wait 6-8 weeks for the first $200 to returned to me. They wouldn't even hold the place in line and just approve the new form it would be sent to the bottom but he told me how great the eforms system is that even with the second submission I would still get it in half the time a normal paper form would take. I could only bite my tongue since I knew it wouldn't do any good yelling at the guy.

They may have been in a state of emergency but I received my declined eform 1 at 12:30 yesterday afternoon and called and left a message a women called me back less then 30 minutes and then passed me off to the examiner that declined it and I spoke directly to him so they absolutely were there yesterday.
The Governor of West Virginia has issued a state of emergency and the ATF is shut down right now. Also every Wednesday eForms is offline.

I don't think they field questions anymore. At least not in regards to form status. I used to call all the time for stuff, give serial number and get an update. I called several times last week and it goes to a message saying to leave a voicemail if it's been over 6 months. They never even had an automated system before. This stinks! Last two suppressors I knew they were approved before my dealer because my dealer sucks for follow up and communications.

Yup, that's all they have now is a message machine with the the "leave a voice mail if it's been over 6 months". Fortunately I got a call today letting me know to pick up my 9mm can.

Man this really sucks, was really nice to get an approval update before the dealer called, another reason I'm glad all my stamps are in hand
