In case you thought it was impossible to make the state’s reckless stand-your-ground gun law even worse, think again.

The new “improvement” being considered is, get this, warning shots.
Yes, we Floridians need a free pass to squeeze off a couple in the air — and immunity from the consequences of where or whom those bullets hit — before getting down to the serious shooting.

This green light for more gun play is the punishment that reasonable people get for imagining that something good might come from appealing to the state legislature to consider the folly of encouraging Floridians to use fatal force, rather than sensible retreat, to deal with public confrontations, even ones initiated by the shooter.

The way things are shaping up, the only legislative harvest of the regrettable killing of Trayvon Martin, besides a lot of insincere compassion, will be a tweaking of the stand-your-ground law to make it even more friendly to the future George Zimmermans among us.

If they don't like our laws, I wish they'd just pack their **** and leave. Go live in kalifornia. First they ***** about being shot, now they don't want a potential warning first, they just want to be shot instead? We don't run from douchebags and criminals, if you want to, you can, but I don't have to. Trayvon was a thug and is rotting in hell. How's that for insincere compassion? So I'll say it again: Don't like Florida gun laws? GET THE **** OUT.

It's not like we're twisting anyone's arms. You have 3 choices. 1. Leave our state and go somewhere that likes criminals like Detroit or Chicago 2. Obey the law and don't be a piece of **** and it wont be a problem 3. Leave

Check out this excerpt from NRA News presented by Dom Raso:

Recently, there was a vet that had to defend his home from a felon who was trying to break in. He fired a warning shot in the ground to scare the guy off and then told the police that his military training kicked in. Now whether that’s true or not, or even if he went into combat mode, the guy was having his house broken into. He clearly stated to the guy that was trying to force entry into his home and that he was going to give him a warning shot if he didn’t stop his forward progress. All he did was fire a warning shot into the ground, and then the criminal ran off.

But the focus wasn’t on the convicted felon trying to break into his house; it was on the veteran who did everything possible to safely defend his home. The police actually took his gun away. There is something seriously wrong with our system if we are stripping his gun away because according to the police, he wasn’t justified to discharge a round. According to our oh-so-knowledgeable vice president, that’s exactly what he should be doing to ward off would-be attackers and burglars. Sounds like our vice president is giving us some false info.

After you watch this video, I urge you to contact your senator either on the phone or online and let them know that this is a real issue they ought to be spending some time fixing. It’s unbelievable that they’re wasting time talking about useless, unconstitutional gun control laws when there are veterans out there being striped of their rights because of some paperwork problem. So call your senator, and let’s get this fixed.

Call your senators and ask them to support Senate Bill 572, which will correct this injustice.

So they expect one to discharge a bullet into free air? Who is responsible when that "warning shot" hits a kid 5 blocks down the road. The politicians? Morons.

Actually, I agree..no warning shot should be fired. Wait till he is coming just through the door..and give home some religion. See-that was easy, problem solved!
