I just built a dedicated SBR 22lr AR-15, (pics have been posted elsewhere) and I run it suppressed and absolutely love it but I don't need a hardcore Red dot like an eotech or Aimpoint on it like I do on my other full size rifles.

I bought a tasco sight from midwayusa for about $50 and it is OK, I have used it 2 or 3 times now and it is definitely showing heavy wear around the mount, which is made of very cheap aluminum. If money were no issue I would put an Aimpoint micro H-1 on it.

I want to get a more durable sight but would like to stay around $100-$150. What are some good options? Anybody have experience with vortex?

Vortex makes a great optic. They stand behind their products. You buy it once for life. They will ALWAYS take care of you should any issues arise. My buddy runs the Spark on his 556r and won't stop raving about it. :?

You looked at these, Sightmark Sure Shot Reflex Sight? I read somewhere that these were designed to take some abuse.

Vortex strike fire are about $100. And they work great. Check out MAC review for it on youtube.

Then not your best option. Carry on!

I am not sure if it would be too large for this build. This one is all about getting it as small and light as possible.

Primary Arms. Forum sponsor. Great product highly regarded. I own two.

I run their microdot on my HK MP5A5 and it's perfect for light weight micro 22 platform

These look identical to the Vortex for half the cost, it may very well be worth the ~$100 for the PA with low riser

I am seriously considering one of these:

I just bought the TRS-25 for $75 shipped, at that price I am willing to test it out at that price. I may still buy a PA one too to test out, cant ever have too many optics...or guns...or mags...or ammo...or....

I have a Bushnell trs-25 (dot a bit dim in sunlight), nc star/vism RD-laser combo (dot way too bright and is malformed) and an Aimpoint H1 4moa (dot is clear and crisp in all but ultra bright modes makes it seem smaller than 4moa ).

Is is there a reasonably priced (<$200) that is bright AND crisp? BTW, the vism is on my KWA sr10 airsoft.

Bushnell TRS25...a shade under $100 and has been every bit reliable for me for two years of moderate use..using the original battery still and keeps zero very well..available at most AR retailers
Have one of these on my FAL. Works great, great price - can be had on Amazon for ~ $80

Well there are 3 posts for the Bushnell, my budd had 1 on an AR pistol , he finally took it off and runs B/U sights now. Saving up for a better unit.
He claimed the zero kept shifting and from memory he has only complained about it.
Not knocking these but just reporting .

I've had no issues with two Primary Arms red dots on my 10.5" 5.56 SBR or 9" 300blk SBR.

I'm going to sell them to get their newer ones.
