Went to a local gunshot today, they had a CMMG lower stripped for $109, is that reasonable?

No trigger, no grip, no stock.

I 'm thinking about building a 6.8 or 6.5 and I'm considering doing it myself.

That is better than Maryland gun show prices. Lowers are handled here as pistols (even though Maryland will not allow you to build it into a pistol) with a required "cooling off" period.

I would buy a CMMG lower off the shelf for $109 today.

Election years are a good time to stock up.

I have three lowers ready to build at the moment. 2 are Superior lowers that I bought from aimsurplus last year for 89 dollars each (plus I had to pay a 20 dollar transfer fee when they arrived). I also have a STAG lower that I bought at a Houston gunshow last year. It was 120 bucks. (no transfer fee) So yeah, I think that you have a good deal there. Aim has better deal on the Superior though now. Check out what they want for CMMG...

I like to use RRA lower parts kits with 2 stage match trigger.
