Colorado Public School Takes Students on a Field Trip to the Shooting Range

Full story: Colorado Public School Takes Students on a Field Trip to the Shooting Range - Katie Pavlich

School officials in Pueblo County, Colorado are bucking the anti-gun trend and recently approved a field trip for middle school students to a local shooting range where they learned about gun safety and how to properly handle a firearm. The gun safety and marksman group Project Appleseed [ http://www.appleseedinfo.org/ ], an activity of The Revolutionary War Veterans Association, was brought in to instruct students, all of whom fired at the range with live ammunition. The trip was scheduled shortly after students learned about The Revolutionary War in their classrooms.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Pueblo County one of the places that successfully recalled an overreaching state legislator?

I've heard about Project Appleseed before, teaching kids to safely handle firearms and how important they are for self protection and self reliance is a great first step towards the new America.

It's nice to hear about a school using common sense. Even if you don't want your child to ever touch a fire arm it still makes sense they learn proper safety so they know what to do if they encounter firearms in another's house or are with a friend or classmate who displays unsafe practices with them.
