I am getting ready to buy a pelican case for my PBR and would like to know what the best way to cut down the foam for a custom fit.

Thanks.

I traced the back side of the center foam with sharpie and cut with an electric carving knife (the one for turkey that I forget I have Thanksgiving).

Later I added a pistol cut out with my spyderco endura- worked almost as well. The foam cuts easily.- Great Case!

I have had much better results with the solid foam than the pick-puck stuff.

There is a post on arfcom that shows how to make a cutter that does the best job. Ill try to find it and let you know.

ETA: Its in the ar-15 > Build it yourself > Cutting gun foam case. Someone posted in the post early this AM, so it shouldnt be too far back.

pelican case

i have a pelican 1750, the foam was in two layers. i made the cutouts in the top layer with a fixed blade benchmade. i took the bolt cutout and split it in half and used half as a "shim" to make it level with everything else. sorry the pics suck, but i hope this helps.
