Although the XD is a cool looking pistol, I don't like the stainless with the tan. The tan says to me "subdued" tactical, but having that big shiny piece on top just doesn't seem to go with it in my opinion. Definitely unique though.

Looks like a Glock with a grip safety.
Actually - I have never liked XDs. However, I rented an HK USP45, M&P 45 and for the heck of it, I tried the XD 45 last (I wrote a thread on this a few months ago). I was so surprised at how well I shot the XD45.

As for comparisons with a Glock. The triggers on Glocks really suck.

i will say that i have never really liked glocks. i have owned two, and they have both felt poorly in my hands- YMMV.

a week or two ago, i A/Bed a glock 23 and a XD-40 service. the XD won me over, hands down. they are almost indiscernible as far as grip angle, backstrap, etc go at first glance, but the little differences are what counted for me. the XD felt much more natural and didn't angle my hand unnaturally forward- felt more like a 1911/AR grip angle.

i would have bought a XD-9 service if it weren't for my lust over a PS90. :p

again, YMMV.

Finally got to see 1 of the new desert colored XD 45s today - the ones with the stainless slides, instead of the black slides.

I really like it.

Instead of that Ruger 345 - I think this will be my next handgun :?
Shipwreck, I seen that model at the gunshow this weekend also. I agree, very nice looking with the stainless slide. I have also seen the OD green with stainless slide and that looks good also.

My older brother has an XD40, and he loves it. It shoots geat, feels great, and personally, I like the way the magazine just glides right in with little resistance.

He had the slide refinished to dark gray, and coupled with the colored lettering/logo, looks very suave.
