I bedded mine. It shot GREAT beforehand, but for the price of some acraglas gel, I couldn't resist.
I was out on Sunday trying a new stage out for possible inclusion in one of the precision matches we run. We hung playing cards from a string at 200Y. 10 points per hit, 50 points if you score it edgewise (even partially) and 100 points if you cut the card off the string. I was shooting off the rucksack (as I always do), using a rear bead-sock.
I hit the card near dead center, but it turned edgewise. Now what????? I retook my NPOA, really concentrated, trusted my dope.....
The card seemed to 'explode' or shred....
I had no balls unless I could do it again. The razz from the guys was huge. About an hour later I tried a second card. Had to hit it a few times to get it to turn for me. I was shooting a handload that I really really trusted to be pinpoint accurate. I did a little better on this one.
Thickness of the card is .019, which at 200Y with a .308 caliber bullet makes this a .1445MOA shot.
I'm so glad there were five guys there to see it
Try it! You might be surprised at what you can do when you go back to basics.
