I purchased two used barrels and i noticed that the cutouts on the gas regulators were different..

left side is out of a 10"
right side is out of a 14"

Do I need to worry about this or is the only thing I need to worry about the gas jet?

One of them is the new version. They are interchangeable. The gas screw/jet size is what's important. I still have the old style regulator in my 10" SBR.

I was going to buy the new one and change it out because I'm anal like that. Then I figured it wasn't worth the $48. I think, they used to be in the high $20 range,
