DPM recoil spring for the FNX45 tactical

I got their spring set up for the FNX45 tactical, was a bear getting it installed and I used the short spring. Finally got to the range and it does reduce the recoil for follow up shots.

That’s great to hear. I have those springs on order and can’t wait to install them and the Grizzly Gun Works mini ghost to see what the combo does to reduce recoil etc.
Heres what it looks like installed

I wonder how the hell you would get the other in if that was a bear. Crazy

I'm attempting to install the longer spring and you're not joking, it is a Mother to attempt.

lol.... yeah, this is some serious engineering skills attempt going on but your reply is right on the mark!! Man, if i bend this thing too much that's a bit of cash down the toilet. o_O🤣 I contacted the company and asked what size spring would reduce the recoil the most... the larger one of course. They make it look so dang easy. DPM Standard Pistol Recoil Spring Assembly Instructions | Zahal

I installed the short spring, not that it’s much shorter than the long one and it was actually pretty easy. I may have to see what the long spring is like. Especially if that reduces recoil that much more.
I put 100 rds through mine and that helped when I took it apart for cleaning then to put the spring back in.my have to try the longer one ????
I'm looking at pics to see what magic this guy performed.
They make it look so easy, and mine didn't come with a washer. Guess some use a washer. After a 100 rds it did go in a little easier

Mine neither, no washer. As soon as i can get the sob installed, i'll run some rounds through it. I purchased a mini ghost compensator as well. Mini Ghost FNX 45 Tactical Compensator (Thread On) (grizzlygunworks.com

Let me know how the muzzle brake works
Me and a friend of mine both have these and theyve gone in easy since the first install before even shooting them. We got ours several years ago so maybe DPM changed something on the more recent units.

I also have it in the FNX 9 and I've used both spring and same thing. Goes in easy. I wonder what's causing it to be so hard.
Something most of changed. I started with the shorter spring and it was a bear getting in. I'm not as strong as I use to turned 70 back in December at least when the last round is shot the slide lock works.

I will. I've been told the break can reduce recoil up to 75%, however, i believe that's advertising hype. Being in my late 60's, I'm lucky enough to still lifting but I notice a real difference in my recovery... getting off topic. Today is day 3 with the attempted install.:rolleyes:

I wanted to include my email from the DPM company below:

Hello Mr. Colten,

Thank you for contacting us and for your trust to our products and services!
Regarding your query, for your FNX the longer is the spring the bigger the recoil reduction will produce.

The power rate of the long spring when the slide is on the battery is 9.5 lbs and the total force 25.5 lbs (approx.),

The short’s spring is at 9.1 lbs and the total power remains the same.

We remain at your disposal for any additional info!

Best Regards,

Panagiotis Nanos

Well that's my problem I just turned 70 back in December.

i guess we're all getting there. Arthur rears it's ugly head for me anyway. Aircraft Maintenance and weights takes its toll eventually. Now, it's my turn.
