I found a feature on my carbine that I didnt see listed in the very sparse manual.

There is a closable "Dust cover" in the shell ejection port...anyone else find that? Its analagous to the dustcover on an AR15/M16.

Yup - mine has it
There was a separate piece of paper that came in the box showing how to use it.

Besides being a dust cover, it will keep the bolt open

- remove the mag
- pull the bolt back and hold
- close the cover
- slowly release the bolt
- to open the cover, just pull back the bolt and release

Well...I Velcro'd her up as per the links instructions. Its a shame the gun beats itself up like that. You would have thought they would have addressed that after all this time. Im wondering what there philosophy is with selling replacement parts to civilian owners?

Seems like a glaring issue with the weapon system. I guess FN thinks that since the original intent of the weapon was for military and LE that they would simply replace parts as necessary and appearance be damned.

The thing is, the civilian collector/shooter is a bit more sensitive to how the piece looks.

Well, a metal plate on it or something would have been nice.

I am fine with the velcro.

I read about this prior to buying my PS90, so I put velcro on the trigger pack before my 1st range visit.

But, everyone online said - "Ya don't need it on the door flap." Well, they were wrong :p

But, I velcroed that part immediately afterwards...

Has anyone actually contact FN about this damage? Any chance there will be a nice replacement policy?

How hard would it be to replace the dustcover?

So two questions about this topic.

1. Does anyone know if FN makes spare parts for it?
2. If so, how hard would it be to replace it? Any ideas?
