Hi guys, I have a black FNX 45 tactical on layaway for an all right price but I just came across an FDE tactical, that's what I really want. The guy said it only had 150 rounds through it and it comes with a blade tech holster. He wants $1050 for it. Do you guys thing that is a good price? He already told me the mags don't drop free. Here is a couple pics. It don't come with the light or RMR.

Does it come with the RMR red dot? It's an ok price but I'm pretty sure you can find a NIB FDE for about that price, maybe a little bit more. It's all in what u want. I was in the same boat abou 6 months ago. I had a black on e on layaway and the FFL knew I wanted the FDE. About a week later they received a NIB FDE and asked if I wanted to trade layaways......uh...YEAH!!!! Did you ask your FFL if you can switch?
Well... You can buy a new one for close to that price, but you may need to wait for stock and pay shipping+FFL or sales tax. If the holster is worth something to you, and the condition is good.... Haggle him down $100. :)
It don't come with the RMR. I have the black one on layaway at Cabelas but the FDE one is from the manager at Cabelas. It is his gun that he is selling. He gave me first option because he knows I wanted an FDE. He told me $1100 at first! I told him I would do it for $1000 then he came back at $1050. I'm not sure how much the blade tech holsters go for. The gun looks brand new and he said he only put 3 box's of ammo through it. I guess I have to make a tough decision lol
If it looks great in and out, go for it!!

The holster is probably at least $70 knowing Bladetech. I'd try to get him down a bit further, knowing that the mags don't drop free (which you might be able to fix on your own - carefully I might add)

FDEs are selling for 1060ish all day long online. Locally there was a guy selling one with 10 mags, rmr and light for $1000. I wasn't home at time but there are deals to be had.

Well what did the black one on lay-a-way cost you? Is there any price difference? If you want the FDE model then I would go with it. Tell the manager to "fix" the lay-a-way problem and get your money back from them so you can buy his gun.
I wouldn't pay new prices for a used gun. High Plains Gun Shop has the FNX-45T in FDE for $1019. The bladetech is worth $50 new. Your Cabela's manager may be proud of his FDE FNX, but I certainly wouldn't entertain anything over $1000 as a buyer....

You wouldn't pay MSRP for a used Toyota Celica, would you?

FWIW, I have an FDE FNX-45, and I love it. Not knocking the pistol, just the pricing.

Good luck!
As others have said you can find them on gun broker or slick guns for about 1000. If it has the known problem of mags not dropping free I would probably not pay more than about 900-950. I buy a lot of used guns, but I will not pay new gun prices for them. For what it is worth, I love my FNX 45 and wish I had saved up for the tactical so I could mount my Jpoint on it while still using iron sights.
I just bought a new FDE for $950.00 (Black Friday Special), normally $1100.00...

The black one is $1250 with tax. Cabelas is always high on their prices. I cancelled the layaway. $1250 is way to high, especially if the mags don't drop free. I'm not sure if I'm going to buy the FDE one. I will see if he will come down more before I decide.
I agree with what others have said I would wait for a better deal, you are paying new prices for a used gun. The manager has been working at cabelas for too long if he thinks 1050 is a fair price for a used gun. I think $900 is more fair, but its your money...

I just picked up my FDE Tactical. I'm pretty happy with it even though the mags don't drop free. The gun is in excellent condition. It looks like the mags don't drop free because they rub on the inside of the mag well. You can see in the picture the wear marks on the mag from rubbing. I don't know if there is a way to fix that problem.

You could very lightly file the ridges in the magwell where the excessive contact points are until they drop free.

Has anyone here filed down the ridges with success?

That, I do not know. Mine drops mags free. Some people also had issues with the mag catch contacting the mag when depressed. People have been successful in filing the corners of that back to allow the mags to drop free.

I just cleaned the FNX. I took rag and put a very little bit of CLP on it and wiped down the inside of the magwell and all my mags fly out now. Loaded and unloaded. It didn't look dirty, I just wanted to try it. If that's all it takes for the mags to drop free I can live with that.
