I am waiting for my SCAR 17S FDE to arrive. Mine came in on Thurs. But I refused it. I did not like the color, it was a green upper an choclate brown lower and the furniture was two shades of tan.It was not like the one shown in the forum header. They have a repacment coming in this week and hopefully it will be acceptable. (I'm tired of fondaling the picture on my screen saver.
Any one elce have this issue?

None of the FDE guns 16 or 17 match, the gun in the forum header and on FN's web site is not what you get. The only way to get a gun like what is pictured is to paint it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that's just how it is. :-(

The solution is to paint it. There is a good compairsion of painted guns vs. non-painted black guns over on Lightfighter. Why would anyone want to fight with a black gun is beyond me. Guns are tools. Make em work for you and get over the "OMG - I paid $ for it and can't touch it" mentality. :p

I am sorry, I hope you will get one you like! I bought black in part for this very reason - it is harder to mess up black - I think!
Best of luck!

Yeah mine has the two-tone color too. That's just how they are coming out now. As much as I thought I wouldn't say it, I actually kind of like it. Just picked it up and haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet, but I'm sure when I do, I won't give a crap about the color anyway. Another thing to keep in mind, if the enemy can actually notice the color difference in your rifle, either you're dead or they are! :p

HOLY HELL! I would loved to have that one! I don't want any two pieces of my 17 to match. My 16 has about three distinct colors but the greenish upper is what I want most for my 17!

It amazes me how many people whine about the most unimportant issues. If your buying a weapon for it's color beyond the FDE or Black option, you probably should be redecorating interiors and doing peoples hair and nails instead of purchasing a rifle.. I know when that zombie apocalypse comes you will be prepared with all of your camo jobs to blend into anything right?... That sniper training y'all received in video games goes real far in real world... Once again i just would like to say thanks for the laughs. :-D

Really! The only matching color SCAR is the airbrushed rendering on the banner. I have seen airsoft toys that match but the real guns are assembled from parts that are within an acceptance scope of color. All of these parts are within this scope and are acceptable to the government. If you want to hang this thing on the wall and admire it, I'd go airsoft, it's A LOT cheaper! If you want to run bullets through it and get it dirty, buy the one your dealer got in for you! That one is a NICE one! If it were sitting before me right now, I'd buy it!

I’m sorry I’m from the old school where a rifle is a firearm and the person using it becomes the weapon. There is nothing wrong with wanting a firearm that is beautiful to look at and functions better than anything else in the world. (Especially when it is my money). I will worry about getting it dirty when they start coming over the wire. Until then I want it pretty; I did my time in the mud. Simper Fi!!!

It amazes me how others pass judgement regarding what someone wants or expects with a purchase? If the man wants matching colors on his rifle, then who has the right to tell him otherwise, unless THEY are paying for it?!? Rant over ... back to bashing what brand truck others drive! :-x

The point is that the Scar colors don't match perfectly. You'll miss out on an excellent weapon if you require perfect color match.

If you want pretty try a nice wood stocked custom rifle.........................DJ

Tell that to SGT and his pink gun :p :p

To each his own, as long as he isn't desperaging your color. I personally like the black. I have a rainbow gold, but I am getting a black one on Monday. I swore I would never own a rainbow gold one, but after getting it, I actually like the color, but not as much as black. All my other guns are black so I prefer to have a matching set. Yes they do shoot the same, but at $2k plus I prefer to have what I want. It isn't the old days with Henry Ford.... " you can have any color you want as long as it is black" :-D

The point is that others should quit telling the man what to "accept" for his hard earned money. I'm sure he's perfectly capable of deciding that on his own; without any "help" from other forum members. He did not attempt to bash the weapon in any way other than state that he was unhappy with the color and was hoping the next rifle would be matched better. Why is that so difficult to respect his opinion and choice?

Personally, I like the multi-color FDE 17's and am hoping when I purchase mine, that it's the "multi-cam" version ... I'm counting on it

Gee I thought that when someone starts a thread on a forum like this entitled "FDE Color" they were inviting open discussion about the color of Scar 17's......................DJ
