About a year ago i contacted a member on calguns.net who is an ffl out of phx. Heard he did california compliance included in the price of the rifle you were buying. In the case of scars this is important as local shops really are charging a lot for the compliant scars. 3200-3300 was not uncommon for a 17 with 16s around 2900-3000. I heard he also did layaways. Long story short he told me yes i will do a 6 month layaway, no fee, no interest, same price as cash in hand. So i bought a 17s for 2800 and worked hard to pay it off in 4 months. I absolutely love it. I figured i will only be able to afford one scar, its gonna be a 17.
Recently i have been craving a new 5.56. Im just bored with the ar i have. I want to be excited About shooting 5.56 again especially at half the price of shooting my 17. Also its cross platform traning really. So i asked him about a 16s. 2300 with 1 year to pay it off. Piece of cake. i am very excited about it and am already picturing mods in my head. Question is should i go fde to match the 17? Its more accurate, i know. Or get black and cerakote receivers either tungsten grey, or patriot brown with black stock, grip, and mag. What say you scar brothers?
