As most of the regulars know, I've been on the hunt for a scar 16 for a little while now. I finally had a good trade deal for both parties with a member on here who didn't have much of a presence on the forum. I was apprehensive but the members actions quickly changed that. This is also my first .223 rifle so much help is needed from my fellow brothers especially Lester who has been one of the most helpful members to date. Where can I find the best/cheapest deals on solid mags and ammo. Also any helpful tips on anything else are much appreciated as reading through the forum to research myself is a little tough with running my own business and helping my wife with our newborn. God is good :)

Probably no surprises for you with this tip, but just don't expect stellar consistency and grouping when running bargain basement ammo through the thing such as your typical steel cased Wolf, Tulammo, etc. I'd definitely recommend heavier weight 5.56 brass case ammo when initially playing with it and sighting it in. That'll give you a better idea of it's capabilities and what you can expect out of it. THEN tear up the countryside with the cheap stuff all you want if your ammo budget is tight and you're not necessarily trying to impress the natives or place in a match. And when doubts about your personal abilities start to creep back in, treat yourself to some decent ammo now and again. Keep 'er clean, keep 'er lubed properly, and remember to only use the delicate cycle on 'er with your clothes dryer - you don't want her to shrink. Ba-Bonk! Ba-Bonk! Ba-Bonk!

Congrats!

Congrats! Welcome and all that jazz. I can only vouch for D&H, Brownell's, and NHMTG (Colt) mags. The Magpul Gen III's are good too. NO, to ASC, and C-Products for sure.
