I assume pics are ok.

This one always rides with us to the range. I am not a huge AR fan but I really love this gun. This gun makes me like AR a lot more than before. It is rock solid shooter.
The Knights Rail was cheap enough and I caught the G2S on sale. I may change the buttstock to a Magpul CTR.

Well today is the day.... remembered my combo & going to mooch some quality .223 off of my fellow club members.... Might even sell this however if it is a surgical shooter.... may keep it.
The 15 and it's big brother have been neglected the last 6 months or so....
1st trip out of the booby-trapped Kave stronghold.... it took a while since my memory is failing and I wasn't sure I remembered to dis arm everything....! ( Think I'm shattin ha ? ) Perfect !!!!!
The Sporter is chambered in .223.... ( OK so far just a safe queen and I didn't read the manual .... to clear the air ) however the lower " multi ".
Haven't took her to the club for show & tell due to hot & humid weather and believe it or NOT... I have NO .223 rounds ( that I will declare anywars ).
Look at the Lower pic.... it is stamped " Multi Caliber " ?
Barrel is " HF MP .223 1/8 " ... I wish I was paying attention.... I would have passed on this even at Dealer pricing.... didn't want a >223 chambered fighting unit... I guess I always could buy an FN barrel in 5.56 and swap it out.
Do like the OEM goodies SF,SAM,Mag.... but these are pricey once again and if I wasn't an FN enthusiast... probably would have had to " stand pat " on yet another M4 style extension of my ego !

Update:

I quickly dropped a Mark IV Luepy on top and was 2-3 MOA of the dead center of precision... ( sweetness in my book )
Put 50 down range of .223 it did extremely well at 25 yds ( 1st 3 shot group ) was covered by a quarter. Pinked the steel repeatedly.... so we were good @ 100....
The Samson guard is comfortable ... I do like it and would recommend only drawback for me is there was not an extra 1913 rail section to install ... wanted to put an AFG on the front, the Timney trigger was crisp with little creep not to mention a surprise.... ( I didn't know it was included in the package ). The magpul grip & stock ,we will give honorable mention to ... and last but not least the Surefire brake did the job extremely well.... very little muzzle rise and as expected... it was loud ! A real head banger if you were in the " blast zone ".

Did like the designed in ergonomics.... albiet through the addition of supplier components ... the weapon has superior balance and was easily handled.... the Samson round guard was a pleasant surprise ( not too front heavy ) and up until now I haven't owned one. It seemed easily manuverable for a mid lenght system and the added 2" wasn't even noticeable... when compared to most of my carbine length procurements. It honestly felt as comfortable as my Spikes Carbine build with Diamondhead VRS-T 5.56 .

VRS T-556 Free Floating Handguards ? Diamondhead USA, Inc.

In summary I was pleasantly surprised with the over all unit, the 18" barrel seemed near deadly accurate and at this point have to give it a 4 out of 5 stars rating.

This is just my opinion, trying to be objective and un biased... if there was something I didn't like I would state it..... ! Don't care for the .223 chambering but find it hard to part with at this point.
A further review on it's grouping & shooting accuracy will be forthcoming.... These are my opinions... i'm a professional nothing.... except maybe a professional money spender ! I like it and don't really care what the outside ( world ) of reviewer's have to say.... I was satisfied in the quality of the product. Nice Weapon !

I may have to retract my statement on being a little ( FNH ) pricey.... it has lived up to and surpassed my expectations ( typical expectation of another AR.... ) Like it better than most of my Colts barring a few but that could be due to all the added accessories.

F-N straight shooter man.... !

mjk1 OUT !

Groupings from yesterday's shoot/eval.
Heck I was just winging it.... No Sinclair Rest, No sandbags, No Luepy Spotting scope, No Match grade ammo... nothing from the Kave that I usually bring to bog me down w/ technicalities of logistics.
Honestly cobbed that Luepy from next in the rack and locked it down on the rail, considering only cheek weld position.... and estimating FOV.

I took a chance and just purchased the FN15 Tactical carbine. I have not had a chance to put any rounds down range yet. I have been looking for information or reviews on this model, but cannot find anything of any depth on it. Does anyone know of any review links etc? Hoping I didn't make a mistake in buying it.

Cheers

I didn't find anything in depth, was hoping MAC... had a review but he has so many You Tubes that doing another AR may be boring ...

We have to Thank JHS for installing the " FN-15 ( sticky ) , ( THANKS JHS ::!!!:: ) He gets accused of all kinds of stuff here by the members.... IE: heavy handed mod work .... excessive force.... member brutality, infractionitis, ect ........ Pretty much the same bad rap our LE get in the private sector. HOWEVER.... often many forget the good things he does and I found him to be generous.... Not to mention being a wealth of tech facts & history .

Not sure why this Sticky doesn't see more action... maybe our members have them as " safe queens " like me or many are not yet in the avid collectors hands... I'm kind of AR'ed out but.... with a proclivity towards FNH... I just needed 1 more for " The Kave ".( LOL )

Mine is a " Sporting " model, if the Tac Carbine shoots anything like mine you should be impressed ! ! !
The " 15 Series " has good stuff in them, yours has a GOOD FN barrel & twist, with a mid-lenght gas system, heavy buffer, not sure on the bolt ? ( to see if it was a FULL milspec ) but I would think it is more accurate than they claim ( 3 MOA )???

I was in the " hope I didn't make a mistake " mode also, especially when I found mine to be chambered in .223, My groupings were the main reason I kept it or decided that, I liked it ! If it-or-I... was all over the place with MOA @ 100 on the 1st outing ???? Then I would have had to do some homework before making the keep / sell decision . It was surgical right out of the box.
FN claims accuracy for the Tac Carbine to be 3 MOA... w/ factory match grade ? Surprised me anyways... my Armalite was 1- 1.5 MOA at 100, per their techs.
I found FN barrels and products to some of the finest and hope you like your acquisition, I highly doubt you made a mistake. If it is only capable of 3 MOA @ 100 , I would be pissed but I doubt very much that is what you will find in real world shooting ( paper " Tali's ) .

I would like to see more input here also, especially data or input on what kind of food the different Series models like and how accurate at distance these 15 models really are.
The Tac has a ALG " (quality mil spec ) which is a basic Geisselle . Should be a good fit , function, & reliable trigger.

Don't feel too bad about the price... the FNH stuff has been expensive from day 1 and their launch of the 15's this year will probably stay at the higher end of the marker inspite of a over-saturation of AR's in the market ?

Depends on the inside of the handguard but a lot of them will clear a cut down A post gasblock, except you will need to remove the sling swivel and cut off the bayonet lug.

If I cut the bayonet lug off would I have to paint it with some kind of paint, if so what would you use. I wouldn't want to have bare metal showing. Thanks

Raider, how did you make out? Did you pick up the 1776?
I was wondering if you did those mods.
