Please, if there are any FN factory employees reading this post, I need a call. Very important. Bad problem.

Don't guess, I'm not going to say anything else until a rep from FN calls me.
Thanks,

I do however love FN products--the best, I just can't believe this happened with this gun.

I know you don't really want to discuss it until you talk to FN... but you weren't using reloads were you?

Yep, I'm the one. No fun, just waiting on Bob to cal me back.
humslr- do you mind if I cross-post the pictures from ARFcom here?

From the evidence it seems to be a clear case of OOB firing. A *legitimate* case of OOB firing.

It seems he was shooting a mixed bag of commercial and milsurp cartridges. No handloads. The case looks absolutely shredded. The head was blown off in such a way as to lead to the conclusion it wasn't locked into battery when it discharged.

How badly did you get cut up? I'm really surprised the rifle contained the KB so well. Just goes to show it's a good design, plastic or no.

Glad you're ok.

Sure, go ahead. You should start a new thread, I'll chime in.
I would post pictures of my face, but you wouldn't know the "before" pictures
Anyway, it rang my bell pretty good. I was wearing hearing protection, but no eye protection, just got lucky with the eye part. 2nd degree flash burn on my cheek and above my eye--dead center between my eyebrows. The shock wave gave me a bruise, tore up inside my mouth/ inside cheek area. Yes, it did contain the blast good, if pipe bombs be pipe bombs--I'd rather a plastic than metal one go off in my face.

Wow, that was one hell of a KB! You were very lucky it didn't cause more serious injuries.

Keep us posted on the outcome. Will be putting my FS2000 away for a while till this is resolved!

I'm sure it's just a freak accident. I just hate being the one the freak happened to. Just because a Ford Mustang mysteriously blows up doesn't mean everyone should stop driving Ford Mustangs.

I just talked to Tim at FnH and he said this is the first one he's heard of--and he's been there for 5 years. I'm shipping the rifle off with the various parts to FnH.
