I think it took about a week to get the box.

My M249S was out and back in 28 days. It came back dirty (just like I sent it), with a couple of supplemental pages for the manual, no explanation of what was done, no answer to the comment I put in the box about light strikes (which they returned), and not so much as an effin' sticker  for the hassle they put me through. I haven't had it back to the range yet.

I never received advanced notice that they were planning to ship, but I did receive a tracking number from Fedex (I'm signed up for address-based alerts, so I think Fedex sent this not FN) once it had already shipped. As someone who travels often for work, this is pretty damn inconvenient. For customer service, FN barely gets a D. Absolutely piss-poor for such an expensive item.

By contrast, Ruger fell all over themselves to turn-around my cheap 22/45 Mk4 pistol that was recalled and make it right.

Beefier slide hammer base and trigger pack sear engagement. Trigger pull feels like it’s a bit more “robust”, for lack of a better term, than before. Still feels nice though, but that was just dry firing it. If it warms up a bit I’ll get her back out to the range soon for a test fire.

Got on line ref The effected SN's and mine 016XX needs recall action. Registered on line, etc, ticked the box for new shipping box. Now waiting. Too bad they just don't want you to ship the desired parts, in a 'one for one', and then install the new ones as per a field strip. In regards to the new video, ya the slide hammer I have is different to the one on the video. So about a month away for repairs. Joy!

I had a issue last summer shooting mine with less than 200 rounds, the trigger disconnect was sticking and would not reset, I called FN about it and they said that that's the first they heard about this issue, a few months later the recall comes down so I am assuming that this may have been one of the issues. I have not had the time to take it to the range and see if this has been corrected since the return from FN, hopefully it has, because for what you pay for these things it should run flawless.

I purchased an M249S Para in mid January. As soon as I got home I checked the serial number on FN’s website. It stated that my rifle was subject to the recall. FN promptly sent me a service number. The next day I shipped it back to FN per the instructions they sent me at a cost of $158.

About 10 days later I checked in with FN and discovered that the recall work had already been done on my rifle by the wholesaler prior to it arriving at my dealer. They apologized for the screw up in their recall tracking and notified me that they would be sending the rifle back and would refund my money for shipping it to South Carolina.

Thus far I have somewhere around 6-700rds of mostly Wolf Gold Taiwanese M193, plus a 100rd belt of Wolf military classic steel case. No failures so far.

Though I was somewhat annoyed with recall flub, I’m still enamored with the weapon system as it has a special place in my heart having used it in the Global War on Terror.

Thank you FN for releasing these on the civilian market! There’s just something special about belt fed hate and discontent!

Why didn't you use the box they sent you and the shipping label? I didn't have to spend a dime out of pocket for this entire recall. And they would have shipped it back to your home instead of to your dealer.

Mine was initiated on mid jan, got the box a week and half later and I shipped it to FN mid feb, got it back today. Everything arrived in the original box, well packed and wrapped in sealed bags and I'm pleasantly surprised at FN's turnaround. Would have prefer the gun done right the first time around but as far as recall goes this was pretty smooth. YMMV.
