Is it just me or is my FNP-40's slide "tight". When I practice with snap caps in my HK USP 9mm for failure to fire I can work the slide alot easier than my FNP-40. I've only put 400 rounds through my FNP-40 and over 2100 for my HK.

If I had the choice, I would rather that the recoil spring be STRONGER than not.

For one, you KNOW the next round is going to get hit hard enough to cycle. Even with hollowpoints.
Two, it will reduce some of the felt recoil making the second and third shots more accurate (and more comfortable).

My FNP-40 seems pretty normal to me as far as retracting the slide goes. The only other pistol that I have to compare it to has Wolf 22lb recoil springs installed so its not a fair comparison.

It could simply be the difference in the total number of rounds through them both as well.

I noticed that there is a "break in" period and i started to notice where the slide would move with less effort....you know what that means.....Shoot the hell out of it!!!

Regardless of manufacturer, a .40 S&W caliber handgun will have a stronger recoil spring than a 9mm one will
Good point....

Recoil springs/buffer springs for HK USP 9/40 are the same. I guess I'm going to have to put 400 rounds through her sometime this week and see what happens, besides my wallet getting lighter.lol. I'll take my nephew and have him do the reloading  .
