I'm guessing you mean the part of the pull where it goes back for what seems like an eighth inch before you get resistence from the trigger.

I wonder the same thing, and it's not just the 40, my 9mm does the same thing. There must be a spring that holds it forward of the resistence. However, lightening the spring would mean the trigger would just flap back and forth. It may be something a gunsmith could fix, but I wouldn't mess with it myself.

The DA pull is long. Makes the SA a lot easier to use for precision.
I think if the DA trigger weight was lighter, it would be a lot more accurate. The approximate 12lb weight is quite a heavy trigger. If it was 8lb like my GLOCK 26, I would be tickled pink. I do like that you can shoot single action and it is very light. Something I hate about my GLOCK. I want a light trigger pull, but not too light to have negligent discharge. The DA/SA trigger on the FNP fits my desire perfectly. Heavy pull when you mean business, and then light trigger to get the job done. If there were diffferent trigger packs with lighter trigger weight for DA and maybe SA, it would be the ultimate gun. I guess I am used to the different factory options you can purchase with the GLOCK. The FNP would be even better since it is all enclosed in one pack to swap out. FNH must know that FNP owners want to customize their guns; maybe once it has been established awhile, we will see some custom factory parts.
