Just traded my G26 for the FNX 9mm. Love the gun so far, but there is a big issue. The interchangeable rear grips slide off very easy. That little crap piece of plastic doesn't lock it in. The guy at FN said send it back at my cost, and if falls within their warranty guidelines they will fix it and send ot back. If not, I have to pay for the return. Pretty crappy service in my book.

Aside from gluing the desired strip on, is there another cheap fix.

Also, does anyone get a rattle when the mags are loaded with only 14 or 15 rounds? Thanks

What you cold do is drill a hole through the back strap and frame and insert a T-nut and screw through the back strap. I would go as small as possible if you do that.

As to the rattle, many of my double stack mags rattle at various points of loading. Even some of my 1911 mags rattle a little.

Agree, IMO, if it's under warranty, FN should pay the shipping B/W. If not, you pay shipping to FN, free shipping back.

Try this to save money: just send them the 'lower', don't send the slide/barrel/spring.

Since the serial number is on the lower, it still is a "firearm" according to the ATF and would need to ship FedEX or UPS overnight and USPS isn't an option (assuming the sender is not a FFL holder) or through an agreeable FFL. In some locations, FedEx and UPS can be real PITAs about this.

The weight of the shipment is less of an issue than the method of shipment required by the carrier when shipping a "firearm".

Good Luck.

FYI on the FNX-9 magazine rattle. I have tested all my FNX-9 magazines and have discovered the following. If you load up to 7 rounds there will be no loose round, the 8[SUP]th[/SUP] round loaded will cause a loose round and every even number loaded after (8[SUP]th[/SUP] 10[SUP]th[/SUP] 12[SUP]th[/SUP] 14[SUP]th[/SUP] 16th), if you add rounds (9th 11th 13th 15th & 17[SUP]th[/SUP]) you will have no issue. I do not consider this a major issue or a design flaw just something to be aware of.

Thats funny, mine was on good when I got it and havent had any real movement from it. I would suggest calling back to speak to another service tech person and see if the anwser changes? Is yours loose with just one back or all of them?
