I will be a new owner of a Forster Co Ax Press in a couple of days. I was wondering if anyone knows what spare parts I should keep on hand? I figured a couple springs for the shell holder would be good. Anything else?

Thanks

Yep, the springs have a way of finding the darkest recesses of your room. Until you get the technique of compressing a jaw which frees the opposite jaws spring. You can now flip that jaw without fear of losing the spring.

I drilled a slight relief in the handle so the setscrew does not need to be over tightened, denting the handle. I also like the short handle for pistol, 300blk and 5.56 loading.

First thing on my list to get is the shorter handle.
Forster Co Ax Roller Lever SHORT | Inline Fabrication

I bought the press mount from this company and it is rock solid. Very pleased with it. Also there is a guy on youtube making upgraded jaw holder. I bought one and I am happy with it. Don't have to worry about flying springs

I'm new to reloading and this is my first press. So far I'm really liking it. I'm thinking of getting a Lee Reloader Single Stage Press for decapping only.
