so I'm discussing this with a buddy of mine and he says the piston system of the FS2000 will beat the gun up too much when firing blanks with an AR15 blank muzzle adapter. That the orifice in the AR blank firing device needs to be enlarged to keep the gun from breaking parts. I see his point since the FS2000 gas system is way different than an AR15 system. However, I don't want to risk parts damage on a $2K gun just to find out.
What do you think?

i tried a mag through it when i had mine and it worked fine

i honestly had no clue it could damage the weapon, but it worked with 28 rounds

if you dont want to risk it then i wouldnt suggest doing it
after all it is a pricey weapon

Would adjusting the gas regulator help or is that going to make it worse? Though I can't imagine an adjustable system like they have would be so fragile it could be damaged by blanks.

If you plan on using GI blanks, then it will work fine, and no damage to the rifle. If you use joe swansons blanks, which are fairly hotter, then you'll probably break something, after prolonged use with those.

The 2 position gas switch will help you if you're using the GI surplus stuff. They are loaded just enough to cycle the M16, so you'll probably have to switch it to "adverse" to let more gas in the system and have it properly cycle.

Hope this helps, Gregg

yes it works just fine
Adosh,

I just bought an AR-15 blank adapter yesterday...doesn't fit.
How did you get it to work with the FN muzzle brake?
Any pics?

Problem solved!

BTW, I didn't mention how it didn't fit...you could put it on the muzzle brake, but even if you tightened it all the way it wasn't snug...needed to go in another 1.0 - 1.5mm.

Fixed it by removing the roll-pin, and used pliers to tighten it the last little bit. Works great!

Also, had to do a little digging to make sure I had the right blanks. The blanks I have are black on the tip, not violet, which is supposedly the color for M200 blank ammo (according to many, many websites). However, TM 43-0001-27 (Army ammo specs) has no color specified for M200 blanks, just a narrow strip of knurling 1/2" from the cartridge-head, which mine does have.
