I have never gottent to take a look at a scar so i was wondering if you could let me know about the gas system. I know that you can regulate the amount of gas being used so that you can use all types of ammunition in the gun. But i hered that you can turn the gas nozzle to all the way closed for the gernade lancher. Why? This does not make since because it is a totally different system? Thanks, ss190!

Just taking a guess here, but all the way back in WW1 the had "Mills Bombs" that fired a gernade from the rifle barrel by using a blank round. The gas from the blank fired the gernade about 500-600 ft I think. They were easy to make(they looked like a regular gernade with a metal rod attached). Maybe they had that use in mind.

Maybe, but the gernade lancher is a different system then the gas system on the rifle.
